An extension for Mundus Novus? Why not!
A little cutting, printing and even gluing
(not necessarily in that order) will make you a small extension
for an excellent card game!
Expanding Horizons
is based on the territories, that is to say maps
to explore and conquer, with some new rules to
put it all together ...
It will adds interaction since the
players will be able to steal the territories!
But how is
this possible?
First, the back of the cards, download ‘’here’’. You will have to unzip before
printing 9 times! Then we have
to unzip and print the Territory cards of
this file ‘’here’’. (this is
the biggest!).
Finally, I suggest you stick the card back
with a back of a card (one each!). Before
putting it all in individual plastic
protections ... you have not
protected your Mundus Novus? Well, I will close
my eyes for this time, but
I’m taking notes!
The format of Mundus Novus is standard, you can
borrow poker cards of Pokemon or Magic, and place your printouts (top and bottom) and thus give them a nicer rigidity.
Protections will of
course prevent players to easily identify the cards if the bonding was not perfect.
I assure you, the Territory cards are put together and not mixed with
other cards, so if you do not have the desire or time to do these
crafts to perfection, it is not very that bad.
For rules, they are just below so you can save a tree!
Enjoy ...
Expanding Horizons
Mundus Novus mini expansion
Now, players will no longer be
only traders,
they are also explorers and conquerors
MATERIALS
9 Territories cards.
The game proceeds normally with few exceptions described below.
To start
Shuffle the Territories deck then draw 3 cards.
Then place them on the side of the package, visible
side (above the
Development cards).
PROGRESSION
During the growth phase, the players have
two
new ways to use their cards:
• Explore and conquer a territory:
a player who has a
combination of four 7, four 8 or four 9 can
choose a
Territory card among the three available. It immediately draws
a new
Territory map for
replacement.
• Attacking another player: a player who has
a
combination of five 7, five 8 or five 9 can take
a Territory or
a
Development to a player of his choice.
EFFECT OF TERRITORIES
- If a player owns a territory
and the conquistador who
matches (indicated on the Territory card) he receives one more card during the supply phase (a
player can receive multiple cards if he own several
pairs (conquistador +territory).
- At the end of a turn, a player have
three Territory cards, he immediately wins the game. In the case where a player ends the game with a
perfect combination in the same turn,
or if several players have three Territory cards at the end of a
turn, the richest of them wins the game.
